Vicar Amelia

Both of our Bloodborne builds started as a suggestion form one of our good friends.  The game’s aesthetic is super creepy and he knew it was right up our alley. We chose Amelia because we wanted to try our hand at creating a creature suit.

Our goal was to create a realistic monster silhouette using stilts, upholstery foam, latex claws and a headpiece. We wanted to try a different stilt design then the PVC version we used on Garuda. We decided on a Digigrade stilt kit that we purchased from Chaos Costumes. To build up the body shapes, we used upholstery foam carved with an electric bread knife. The fur suit was then custom tailored over the foam muscles.

The head was first sculpted in WED clay. We then heated Worbla and pressed it onto the sculpt the create the under structure of the face. This was then attached to a custom built helmet and the skinned with fur and the details added.

The most ambitious part of this build turned out to be the hands. We life-casted Courtney’s forearms, sculpted the monster hands in clay, and then created our first three part stone mold. They were then slip cast in liquid latex to create monster gloves.
